Professional photographer Mary Ann Bates turned her collection of shots of angels in statue or stained glass found around Macon into “Angels over Macon.” The 40-page softcover book is being sold is available in local bookstores and a favorite among visitors to the city.
Historian L. Harris Churchwell turned years or research on the officers of the 12th Georgia Infantry Regiment into “Captains at Rest.” The 270-page, hardcover book is a moving record of the 77 Confederate officers who served under the commands of Generals Stonewall Jackson and Robert E. Lee.
The Macon Telegraph, Columbus Ledger Enquirer and Valdosta Daily Times chronicled the championship seasons of local youth, high school and college teams in their areas with hardcover books that brought together the best newspaper photos and text from their seasons.
Blue Marble Books also helped Mildred Minter and Mikel Harper preserve their family histories for future generations.
