What Charnette Messe would like readers to take from “My Mommy Taught Me to Dance: A Memoir for Gabrielle and Christian Messe” (Indigo Publishing), is that “every life in this world is a gift, and that life is not about how long we live, but what we do with our time while we are here. Life is about how we dance in and out of the lives of others.” She added, “I’m basically trying to say to people that things happen in this life and in this world, and it’s how we choose to live our lives that will matter.”

Paraprofessional fulfills literary dream by publishing children’s book

WARNER ROBINS — Lake Joy Primary special education paraprofessional Kristy Kemp, 62, is fulfilling a lifelong dream.

She recently wrote and illustrated a children’s book, “The Adventures of Princess Joy and the Chocolate Milk,” published by Blue Marble Publishing Co. in Macon.

Tuesday night, Kemp held a book signing at Lake Joy Primary’s PTO Holiday Expo and Craft Fair. Alongside holiday wreaths, soaps and crocheted hats was Kemp, a smiling redhead with black-rimmed glasses, with her family near a table that held copies of her book, a display of one of the book’s illustrations and a tea tray with minature chocolate chip cookies.
